The Special Education Programme (SEP) is an integral part of
Runcorn Heights State School. It provides support to students who have been
verified under the categories of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech Language
Impairment, Intellectual Disorder, Hearing Impairment, Physical Impairment and
Visual Impairment. The verification process identifies students who require
significant support.
The SEP offers in-class
support, resources and provides focused and intensive intervention programs to
support positive behaviour. SEP staff
work closely with therapists (Occupational, Speech/Language Pathologists and
Physiotherapists), class teachers, external agencies and families to ensure the
best possible outcome for students.
