Each year since 1945 the Children’s Book Council of Australia has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. Despite the fact that our current restrictions will slightly change the nature of our Book Week parade, we will be going ahead with our Book Week dress up day on Monday 23 August.
This year’s theme is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds. Students will engage in activities and listen to stories relating to the theme to highlight the importance of reading.
We are encouraging all students to come to school next Monday 23 August dressed as their favourite book character. They will have the opportunity to share their costume during a modified parade, on the oval. Due to current restrictions parents and carers will be unable to attend this parade. However, we will share photographs from the day in the newsletter.
