Runcorn Heights State School- Independent Public School

Runcorn Heights State School is an Independent Public School situated 20 kilometres south of the centre of Brisbane. It caters for students from Prep to Year 6. The 700 children in the school range from 5 to 12 years of age and they work with 28 class teachers, 10 specialist staff and 20 support staff. There is a strong community spirit with an enthusiastic Parents and Citizens Association and a staff that is committed and dedicated to providing the best opportunities for the children in their care.

The school teaches the key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Music, Technology and Health and Physical Education, but also has an outstanding extra-curricular activity program that can only be found at this school.  Extra extension activities, interest clubs, sport and musical programs complement the key learning areas and this creates a learning environment where children have wonderfully exciting opportunities to reach their full potential.

The school has also purchased many resources and developed facilities on the 5.8 hectares of learning spaces, three ovals and tree-lined gardens and this provides the framework for the children to practise, consolidate and embed their skills.
